Quake turns 10 yrs. old on June 22, 2006

The shareware 0.91 version of Quake was uploaded to cdrom.com on June 22, 1996. You can read the "Announcement" here. The download was 7, 1.44MB floppy disk images. Needless to say it was an initial disappointment due to the lack of fast enough PC's. One funny read is the newsgroups, where everyone is expressing their grief about the slow fps on thier 386 and 486's. Have a humorous read here.
